A FREE peer counseling and youth outreach program brought to you by the Pride Project
Vent All Stars are
youth counselors trained by a professional social worker.
Mission:
Vent provides a safe, supportive and comfortable avenue for LGBTQ youth to express concerns about issues in their lives including sexual orientation or gender identity.
What we do:
*
Provide a welcoming connection between youth joining Pride Project (or
other LGBTQ youth) and a peer leader/role model.
* Address risks faced by
LGBTQ youth such as suicide, isolation, partner violence, depression,
etc.
* Offer leadership
experience for peer counselors.
How we do it:
Listen
without judgment
Offer support and
alternatives
Maintain confidentiality
Be a mentor / role model
Provide resources
Provide safer sex and HIV
info/supplies/testing
Help people connect to the
group
