Pride Project has two groups that meet every week, one in Hillsboro, one in Beaverton. The groups are a completely confidential place to come and get support or provide it to others - an adult facilitator is present, and usually around 6-30 youth are there. People at the group usually range in age from 13-21, are lots of races/ethnic backgrounds/socioeconomic levels, and are a mix of genders and sexualities.
We all sit in a group and talk about whatever issues are on our minds- problems, good stuff, anything! Participation in the group is up to you - you can say nothing at all if you wish, but we always encourage everyone to speak their minds because it feels so good to get things off your chest! Whatever you say in group will not leave that room, and we always follow group norms (including confidentiality and respect). Like any Pride Project activity, the groups are a safe place to be whoever and/or whatever you want to be without worrying that people will judge you.
You can get free bus tickets to be able to get to group.
